My Passion
I’m passionate about many types of art. I love sculpting, painting, character design, jewelry and more.
Sculpting original doll and figure art is the perfect medium to utilize all of my passions for each piece. It incorporates everything I love into an endless stream of creative possibilities.
My Expertise
I have been sculpting original art figures since 1989. I have taught sculpting for computer character design, color theory, and digital art at the college level and wrote Sculpting for Digital Media back in 2000. I have and continue to learn from the very best in the field and their generosity has allowed me to grow and refine my art.
My Process
Each piece I make starts with a tiny spark of creativity. Many times that spark comes from an unusual place. Sometimes it comes from sculpting a head. More often than not, my heads will tell me who they are. Other times it comes from a fabric, ribbon, a child’s story or a song.
As I work through the process of creating my character I find additional information about the character that changes their story. This continues until they are complete.
All my characters have a story and many times a poem that explains who they are.
